Expo Osaka 2025, Kansai, themed “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” focuses on Saving, Empowering, and Connecting Lives. As a “People’s Living Lab,” it invites global collaboration to cocreate future solutions through shared knowledge and technology. The Expo runs from April 13 to October 13, 2025, at Yumeshima, Osaka.
Expo 2025 in Osaka, Kansai aims to drive sustainable growth in Japan following the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. A World Expo unites global innovations and ideas to solve shared human challenges. This Expo will focus on achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Japan’s “Society 5.0” vision — a human-centered, tech-driven future society.
PORTUGAL’S PAVILION
Portugal’s Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, themed “Oceans: Blue Dialogue,” will showcase the future of the seas, highlighting the country’s deep maritime heritage and leadership in ocean sustainability.
The Pavilion, designed by Kengo Kuma using recycled sea materials, represents a €21 million investment and involves over 150 Portuguese entities. It aims to strengthen Portugal’s global visibility, boost trade—especially with Japan—and attract more international engagement, including student exchanges.
The concept behind Portugal’s Pavilion is “A World in One Country” which, in essence, means the representation of Portugal’s multi-cultural spirit. Visitors can experience the traditional “Calçada Portuguesa”, the typical Portuguese pavement, while encouraging innovative foreign companies to invest in Portugal and contributing to the success of Portuguese companies abroad.
INPACE PROJECT
