Please briefly introduce your organization.

Founded in 1987, the Athens Technology Center (ATC) is an Information Technology Company (SME) offering products and services targeting specific sectors incl. the media, utilities and public sector organisations. The activities of the company span among several countries in the EU, USA and the Far East. Central to the company’s strategy is the conduction of Research and Development, focusing both in improving current products and solutions, as well as in exploring new technologies for future growth. All ATC own products and services are based on early prototypes and/or “proof of concepts” achieved with the support of national or European Commission funding programmes.

What is your organization’s role in the project? What unique contribution does it bring to the team?

In INPACE, ATC is leading Cluster 3: Digital Technologies – Trustworthy Decision Support and the Thematic Group 10 on Data Technologies.
Given ATC’s presence and activities spanning across multiple countries in the EU, USA, and the Far East, the organization brings valuable experience in cross-border collaboration. This expertise is instrumental in promoting international cooperation, sharing knowledge and best practices, and fostering innovation on a global scale. ATC’s unique contribution to INPACE lies in its leadership role, expertise in digital technologies, commitment to research and innovation, cross-border collaboration experience, and contribution to enhancing digital policy dialogue. These elements collectively strengthen the project’s impact and contribute to its success in advancing digital innovation and collaboration across borders.
Furthermore, ATC’s involvement in organizations such as NESSI ETP, the Big Data Value Association, the European Digital Media Observatory, and TEMS underscores its prominence in the digital domain.

How do you think INPACE will contribute to the digital landscape in the EU and Asia?

Japan, Korea, Singapore and India are intriguing destinations for European research and innovation activities outside Europe. INPACE establishes collaborations to promote and support global research activities that expand business partnerships and enhance the capacity of global participants for innovation, whether they are an individual, a corporation, a non-profit research institution or a government agency.

How can the EU and Asia strategically collaborate to forge impactful partnerships that foster innovation in the digital space on a global scale?

INPACE will support strategic collaborations between the EU and Indo-pacific countries:

  • by establishing regular exchanges between leading experts from Europe and the four partner countries on policies, further developments of key digital technologies, and their implementation and commercialisation,
  • by supporting the digital policy dialogues on the governmental and institutional level, and
  • by involving a large community of stakeholders in Europe and in the partner countries via online and in-person events.
