Please briefly introduce your organization.
The Scientific Park of Lviv Polytechnic National University is the center for innovative and creative solutions, technology transfer and commercialization of research results. It operates based on the scientific, technical and educational potential of its founder, Lviv Polytechnic National University.
The Scientific Park is a well-known stakeholder in the field of digital innovation in Eastern Europe. The Park coordinates the Digital Innovation Hub’s Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence activities. The Park is also the consortium’s coordinator in the submitted application for the Digital Europe Program Call to create the European Digital Innovation Hub.
What is your organization’s role in the project? What unique contribution does it bring to the team?
The Scientific Park of Lviv Polytechnic National University brings essential expertise in AI, IoT, and robotics to the project, expanding the team’s capabilities in these advanced technologies. Our role is to support the connection between policy and technologies, as well as between applications/innovation & entrepreneurship (Cluster 2) and technological clusters (Cluster 3-5), and to invite policymakers and experts to project events and discussions. We can also actively participate in project policy dialogue regarding EU-Asia relations in digital technologies.
In terms of strengthening this specific cooperation, Scientific Park of Lviv Polytechnic National University has established strong connections with several academic and research institutions in South Korea and Japan (such as KAIST College of Business, Hanyang Women’s University, Hanyang University, Gyeongsang National University and JEONJU University), companies and organizations (such as SWIFT Xi Inc. and Advanced Robotics Foundation ARF), and with government bodies (such as the Kobe City Government Office and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in South Korea).
To develop joint activities, we have already signed MoUs with key partners. Moreover, we are preparing academic mobility programs between institutions for students and faculty and are in the process of creating a joint online platform for collaboration with Hanyang Women’s University. We plan to make this platform available within the INPACE framework, allowing other partners to benefit from impactful cooperation and shared resources.
How do you think INPACE will contribute to the digital landscape in the EU and Asia?
Thanks to project cooperation with universities in Korea and Japan, we can expand our network of international partnerships through the joint platform, which will foster the development of innovative projects.
How can the EU and Asia strategically collaborate to forge impactful partnerships that foster innovation in the digital space on a global scale?
Strategic cooperation between the EU and Asia through the INPACE project can significantly boost innovation in the digital space by leveraging the best practices of both regions to achieve synergies. Bringing these diverse markets together opens opportunities to scale technologies, reduce costs, and attract a wider pool of talents.
